Non-public Health Care Institution Geotermia Marusza has started its activity on January 1, 2007.

The Company’s offer for treatments mainly involves utilization of warm natural water – the so-called brines, with great curative properties.

Deposit of hypothermal waters in Marusza near Grudziądz was enclosed in the list of curative minerals deposits (Journal of Laws No. 156 of 31.12.2002 item 1815 par. 2 item 3) and obtained positive decision of the National Institute of Hygiene No. HU/06/07 .

The wellbore provides chloride and sodium, bromide, iodide, ferruginous, boron water. Its temperature amounts to 40,5°C. In accordance with biochemical classification admitted in Poland, such water is classified with brines. Both the temperature of water at the outlet, and the degree of general mineralization of water, indicate high usability in curative baths. In natural state (concentration 7,9%), the water may be utilized for special individual baths in tubs. Brine used for filling of swimming pools (collective treatment) must be diluted to concentration of ca. 3%. Recommended temperature of brine bath amounts to 36-38°C. Time of treatment should amount to 15-20 min. Brine may be also used for inhalations when diluted to 0,9 - 1,5% with distilled water. Other components of brine are NaCI - 6,7 %, MgCI - 0,29%, MgSO₄ - 0,015%, CaCI₂ - 0,45%, NaHCO₃ - 0,037%. Iodides in 3,5 mg concentration, bromides in 133,2 mg concentration and metaborate acid in 73,6 mg concentration, were set in dm³ of brine. For physiological and curative reasons, iodides play significant role, both in a bath and in utilization of brine for inhalation.

In opinion Tomasz Kasiński, MD – Provincial Consultant for Balneology and Physical Medicine in kujawsko-pomorskie province – concentration of brine solution used in form of complete baths should not exceed 5%, temperature of bath should amount to 35 up to max. 38°C and its duration should comprise from 10 to 20 min. This is why typical complete brine bath at our place lasts 15 min. in 4% concentration of brine, at the temperature of ca. 36-37°C.

NZOZ Geotermia Marusza is located in Grudziądz, at 36 Warszawska street. It has four workrooms: balneotherapy, kinesitherapy, cryotherapy and curative massage laboratory.

The objects provide full comfort to patients during their treatments in our centre – tubs for individual baths are located in separate rooms, which give them the feeling of intimacy. Before and after treatment, patients rest in the relaxation salon. Brine baths may also be taken in the cave. It is a brine pool, located in an original and unique “Satori” cave, which, due to the content of brine and application of a special underground pearl massage system, is widely used in curative, as well as recreating and rehabilitating purposes. Surrounding of the cave and its microclimate are similar to seaside climate, restore and adjust physical and mental condition, whereas compounds comprised in brine support correct functioning of the whole organism.

Gymnastics hall of the Kinesitherapeutic Laboratory is very spacious, equipped with diversified, professional equipment.

Cryotherapy Laboratory is equipped with „ALASKA” Cryogenic Chaber, where a patient is treated in low temperatures. Treatments in cryogenic chamber shall take place under supervision of a doctor and physiotherapists specializing in this field. There are two treatment positions in the Massage Salon, where intimacy and full relax in nice atmosphere are provided.

Brine is also used for inhalations, both individual by means of nebulisators, as well as collective in the pyramid. About 40 people may stay in the pyramid at the same time. There is a graduation tower, the so-called drip column, made of Chinese heather, on which brine flows off. As a result of evaporation of brine, in surrounding of graduation towers, aerosol with similar constitution to sea aerosol is formed. Additional advantage is that the object is a closed compartment, which guarantees more effective activity of curative brine vapours than open-air graduation towers. Inhalations around graduation towers have beneficial influence on chronic diseases of air passages and sinuses, emphysema or allergic airways infection, and in early stages of hypothyreosis.

Non-public Health Care Institution Geotermia Marusza is adjusted to the needs of the disabled: access ramp at the entrance, safety bars in sanitary rooms, railings in corridors, wheelchair for the sick, lift for lifting, transport and lowering of patients.

Access to the Centre is possible with public transport: bus line 13 and 16 and mini-bus on a commercial line A2.
