MASSAGE - SAUNA – TANNING BED

MASSAGE – it is one of the oldest areas of medical knowledge. It originates from India and China. The oldest records about massage for curative purposes were made by the Hindu 1800 years ago in their Veda book. The first doctor who used massage as official method of treatment was the Frenchman, Ambroise Paré, - the surgeon, who mentioned that stroking and delicate pressing of treated points not only relieved patients’ pain but also accelerated the healing process. With the course of time, doctors prepared exact methods of massage with particular diseases and prophylaxis. Rapid development of pharmacy at the beginning of 19^th century, suppressed curative significance of massage for decades. However, the time has shown that massage is an inseparable part of medicine. Nowadays it is at the peak of its powers.

CLASSIC MASSAGE – curative, relaxing, energizing. Its aim is to improve mental and psychical condition. It is used in treatment of numerous diseases in the following fields: orthopaedics, neurology, paediatrics, gynaecology and internist diseases. It has analgesic effect, regenerates the muscles and regulates their tension, reduces fatty tissue, accelerates metabolism, stimulates blood and lymph flow.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE – enhances circulation of lymph, prevents from diseases caused by its stasis, liquidates swelling, reduces the time of resorption of haematoma and bruises. It has purifying effect in the whole organism. Used after infectious diseases, tumours. It is an element, which accelerates weight loss.

SAUNA – in Finnish its lateral meaning is a place to sweat. Made of wood, with a furnace, which heats air temperature from 80 up to 130°, assigned for regeneration of the organism, improvement of general comfort and cleansing of skin. Staying in a sauna significantly hardens the organism. Artificial rising of temperature up to 39°C in the sweating phase causes the same effect in the organism as during fever – it destroys pathogenic bacteria, which prevent from the developing diseases. Sprinkling the heated body with cold water relaxes the muscles and except for lowering of pressure, stimulation of blood circulation, immunological and respiratory system and accelerated metabolism, it has positive influence on general, good mood. It refreshes and strengthens.

Sauna is also the method of perfect skin treatment. “Sauning” retards ageing processes. Heating and cooling of organism is the method of training of blond vessels.

TANNING BED – equivalent of sun.

The Sun makes us feel well and joyful. Under the influence of sun, hormonal reactions, which are beneficial for health, which stimulate metabolism and processing of vitamin D, are activated. Sun relaxes and smoothes the body. Its lack during winter causes the contrary symptoms to those described above. In order to provide the organism with suitable amount of sun it is recommended to use tanning bed once a week. Modern devices are considered as the safest, provided that time and intensity of radiation are reasonably adjusted. Tanning beds are a component of the process of biological regeneration, and in conjunction with other treatments, e.g. massage, brine baths, sauna, they significantly accelerate physical and mental regeneration.
